Science Olympiad Maryland Regional Competition Results
Science Olympiad has received the results from the Montgomery College Regional Tournament.
The team won a Gold medal, 4th place in 1 category, and 6th place in 3 categories! I would like to give a special shoutout to the medal and ribbon winners in their events:
Codebusters- 6th Place: Samuel Opoku-Agyemang; Grade 12, Anthony Stills; Grade 12, Alexander Akinmutimi; Grade 9
Environmental Chemistry- 6th Place: Favour Nwogu; Grade 11, Marvin Nwachuku; Grade 11 Ping Pong Parachute- 6th Place: Samuel Opolu-Agyemang; Grade 12, Anthony Stills; Grade 12 Trajectory- 4th Place: Victor Onagbeso; Grade 9, Oluwadamilola Ogunsuyi; Grade 9 Wright Stuff- 1st Place: Nevaeh Cannon; Grade 11, Lameece Shearin; Grade 11
This is the first time Science Olympiad has had previous students and club members come back to coach team members, and overall it was a great success!
I would like to give a special thanks to our Science Olympiad Alumni coaches: Reina Finch, Carvengy Milfort, John Ikegwu, Joshua Ikegwu, and Haris Chaudhry for their efforts and dedication!
Special thanks to Mr. Ozdem for his help in coaching competitors for Environmental Chemistry and Chem Lab events.
Special thanks to our Wright Stuff Coach Mr. Copland, who is a Professor Emeritus from the University of Maryland, for guiding our Wright Stuff competitors to a gold medal!
Last but not the least, Science Olympiad is a Team competition and I would like to shout out the whole team for being able to prepare and compete under COVID conditions as a complete team!
