Science Graduation Requirements
– Three (3) credits of Science are required, which must include Biology and two additional lab sciences
– For students who took Biology prior to the 2017-18 school year, these three credits are Biology, Chemistry, and a third credit of science from one of the following courses: Integrated Science, Environmental Science, Physics, AP Biology, or AP Chemistry
– For students who are taking Biology for the first time in the 2017-18 school year or in future school years, these three credits are Biology, BioGeoChemical Science, and a third credit of science from one of the following courses: Integrated Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, AP Biology, or AP Chemistry
– Note: AP Biology and AP Chemistry have prerequisites of both Biology and Chemistry

College and Career Readiness
– Most 4-year colleges and many 2-year colleges or technical schools look for a minimum of three years of science with a fourth year of science recommended by many schools
– Advanced science classes such as Physics, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry are looked upon positively, especially for students who are interested in a profession in the STEM field
